Λίγο πριν τη Bεγόρα άκουσα τη γνωστή φωνή των μελισσοφάγων. Πάνω από 60 μελισσοφάγοι φτεροκοπούσαν μπροστά από τις φωλιές τους σε όχθο προς το βραχώδη βουνό στην κορυφή του οποίου πλανάριζαν 6 γεράκια (Buteo buteo), νεαρά και ενήλικα.
Φτάνοντας στο Αμύνταιο, στην κορυφή μιας αμυγδαλιάς , παρατήρησα ένα νεαρό μαυροκιρκινέζι. Στην αρχή δεν το αναγνώρισα . Πέταξε στο πιο κάτω δέντρο και τότε με έκπληξη διεπίστωσα ότι εκεί ήταν ολόκληρη η οικογένεια. Συνεχίζοντας την εξόρμησή μου έφτασα στην Πετρών και επιστρέφοντας 1000 μ πριν το Μοναστήρι του Αγίου Παντελεήμονα πενήντα και πλέον μαυροκιρκινέζια βολτάριζαν αδιάκοπα στον ουρανό.
The both lakes are anytime interisting. Specially now in the spring. I started my observation from Vegoritis. Pygmy Cormorants , Little Egrett, Squacco Heron and Grey Herons were the first birds. To the Solou stream in the fields many Yellow wagtails and some of them in the subspecies feldegg. At the lake a group of Dalmatian pelicans , more than 50. Also many waders as Wood Sandpiper Little stint and Common Sandpiper. Near the village Vegora I heard the well known voice of the Bee-Eaters. They ,about 60, nest there . Over to the mountain was gliding a family of Common Buzzards. The best sighting for me, near the Monastery of Agios Panteleimon, more than 50 Red-footed Falcons.
