Ο σπίνος είναι από τα πιο κοινά πουλιά στην Ελλάδα. Μερικοί λένε ότι αναγγέλει τον ερχομό του χιονιού με τα αδιάκοπα "Chion-chion". Στα Γρεβενά το πουλί είναι γνωστό ως "τσιώνα"
The chaffinch is very common in Greece. Some people say that the bird announce the snow with its unstopped "Chion-chion".
