Νανόγλαρος - Little Gull

Μια σημαντική παρατήρηση για την περιοχή του δέλτα Αξιού.Στη χτεσινή μου εξόρμηση παρατήρησα τρία άτομα.

An important observation for the region of Axios Delta.Yesterday I saw three of them.

Λεπτόραμφος Γλάρος - Slender-billed Gull

Στην παραλία του Αξιού παρατήρησα σήμερα πάνω από εκατό άτομα.Τρέφονταν μαζί με αβοκέτες και καλαμοκανάδες.

I observed today at the Axios seashore more than 100 Slender-billed Gulls.They were feeding among Black-winged Stilts and Avoccets.

Μουστακαλής - Bearded Reedling

Κατά τη διάρκεια του φωτογραφικού διαγωνισμού μόλις είχα προλάβει ένα κλικ σε καλαμιώνα της Πετρών.Τώρα συνάντησα πάλι, πριν μια βδομάδα ,6-7 άτομα λίγο πριν τη λίμνη .Αυτή τη φορά κατάφερα μερικά καλά καρέ.

During the Photo Birdrace I just managed to get a pic between the reeds.This time I observed again 6-7 just before the Petron lake.Now I shot some good pics.

Αμπελουργός - Black-headed Bunting

Ο αμπελουργός στο δικό του γνωστό περιβάλλον.Σε ένα αμπέλι λίγο μετά τη Βεγόρα.

Φοινίκουρος - Redstart

Τον συναντάμε σύμφωνα με τον οδηγό αναγνώρισης κατά τη μετανάστευση (Μάρτιο-Απρίλιο και Αύγουστο-Νοέμβριο). Η παρουσία του στο Μέγαρο Γρεβενών στις αρχές του Ιούνη ίσως να δείχνει φώλιασμα του είδους εκεί.

It can be observed during the migration time(March-April and August- November).Its presens in Megaro Grevena in the begining of June seems that the species breed in the region.

Μελισσοφάγος - Bee-eater

Η φωτογραφία που τράβηξα τελευταία στο γαλλικό δεν ανταποκρίνεται στο όνομα του πουλιού.Έχει στο στόμα του μια λιβελούλα.

The prey in the bill of the bird is not according to its name.It has a dragonfly.

Μαυροκιρκίνεζο - Red-footed Falcon

Το μαυροκερκίνεζο είναι περαστικό στη μετανάσευση από την πατρίδα μας.Είχα τη χαρά να παρατηρήσω μια ομάδα να τρέφεται σε χωράφι λίγο πριν τη Βόλβη.

The Red-footed Falcon passes through Greece during the migration. I had the joy to observe a flock just before the lake Volvi.

Οχθοχελίδονο - Sand Martin

Πέντε ολόκληρους βαθμούς έδινε το οχθοχελίδονο για το φωτογραφικό διαγωνισμό.Έπρεπε, λοιπόν,να φωτογραφηθεί.Παρατήρησα πολλά από αυτά καθώς ήμουν στο λιμανάκι της Άρνισσας.Δεν είναι όμως εύκολη υπόθεση να τα φωτογραφίσεις σε πτήση.Έκανα πολλές προσπάθειες,με βροχή,καταφέρνοντας ένα δυο αναγνωρίσιμα καρέ.Συνεχίζοντας τις παρατηρήσεις και καθώς η βροχή είχε κοπάσει έφτασα στον Άγιο Παντελεήμονα μπροστά στην εκκλησία του Αγίου Παντελεήμονος,πάνω στα καλώδια της ΔΕΗ υπήρχαν τα τέσσερα από τα πέντε είδη χελιδονιών που απαντώνται στην πατρίδα μας.Τελικά ήταν πιο εύκολο απ' ότι νόμιζα να καταγράψω τους 5 βαθμούς!

Five whole points gave a pic from a Sand Martin for the Photo Birdrace.So I had to shoot some pics.In the port of Arnissa,Vegoritis lake, I observed many of them flying.It was not so easy to capture one.I tried hard,in the rain,and I got one or two pics they could be id.Coming in Agios Panteleimon and in front of the Agios Panteleimon church,there was no rain, on the electricity wires were perched swallows and Martins.Finaly it was not so hard to get the five points!!!!

White Stork - Λευκοπελαργός

White Stork nest in Poland in Internet – “Close to Storks” project

The „Close to Storks” project, based on the White Stork’s nest observation by Internet, is conducted since March 2006 by the South Wielkopolska Group of Polish Society for the Protection of Birds – BirdLife International partner in Poland. Monitored nest is located in Przygodzice village (51.35 N, 17.49 E) in Wielkopolska region, near the border of „Barycz Valley” Landscape Park and Special Protected Area of Natura 2000 European ecological network.
The aim of the project is show to the public the nesting period of the White Stork - species which is a non-formal sign of Poland (Polish population - about 40.000 breeding pairs - represents 20% of the total world population). The project’s title means not only technical possibility of non-stop, close monitoring of the nest, but also establishing the emotional relation of the observers with the storks.
The camera has absolutely no influence for the stork’s behaviour and does not interrupt their life. In 2006-2009 seasons the storks laid 5 eggs, in 2006-2008 - 3, 2 and 4 nestlings left the nest.
Online transmission is realized in several options to choose from according to observers’ needs and technical possibilities. Transmission with the view refreshed every 7 seconds is available on www.bociany.ec.pl, on www.bociany.ittv.pl – the streaming view (25 frames per second), and also the streaming view for mobile phones (20 frames per second) is accessible.
The number of transmission viewers was estimated for 1.5, 3 and 5 millions in 2006-2008, coming from more than 100 countries each year. Besides Poland, the biggest numbers were from: United Kingdom, Germany and France from Europe; USA, China and Japan from the rest of the world. On 2nd June 2008 the Bociany on line site came first in worldwide Birdingtop500 ranking, now is on fifth position. Media also show their great interest in the project. Since 2006 summer „Close to Storks” Meeting is organized, and since 2007 the discussion forum site Bocianyzprzygodzic is active, with a part in English also.
Now everybody can observe five freshly hatched (between 15th and 20th May) nestlings and their feeding by earthworms by the parents.

Βλαχοτσίχλονο - Ortolan Bunting

Κάνοντας Birdwatching συγκεντρώνω πληροφορίες για διάφορα είδη.Ξέρω τι θα βρω και πού θα το βρω. Κατά τη διάρκεια του φωτογραφικού διαγωνισμού (11/04 - 03/05/2009)υπήρξαν πολλές ευχάριστες εκπλήξεις.Στο Μέγαρο Γρεβενών , δίπλα σε ένα μαντρί με γιδοπρόβατα,αναζήτησα το χρυσοτσίχλονο. Στο παρελθόν είχα παρατηρήσει και φωτογραφήσει το είδος πολλές φορές.Δεν κατάφερα να το εντοπίσω.Τι έκπληξη όμως! Ανάμεσα σε σπιτοσπούργιτα και δεντροσπούργιτα τρεφόταν από υπολείμματα τροφής ένα βλαχοτσίχλονο.
Αντάλλαξα ευχαρίστως τους 33 με τους 28 βαθμούς!

Doing birdwatching I collect information about many species.I know what and I can observe some species.During the last Photo Birdrace (11/04-03/05/2009) I had many nice surprises.In a place , in Megaro Grevena, I was looking for a Yellowhammer.In the past I observed it many times there. Among sparrows I saw an Ortolan Bunting.
I changed with pleasure the 33 points with the 28 points.

Κουκουβάγια - Little Owl

Πολλές φορές την ακούω σουρουπώνοντας. Έτσι και απόψε την άκουσα και μου φάνηκε πολύ κοντά.Βγήκα στο μπαλκόνι και στέκονταν στον καβαλάρη της στέγης του διπλανού σπιτιού.Χωρίς να χάσω χρόνο ξαναμπήκα στο σπίτι,πήρα τη μηχανή και... να το αποτέλεσμα!

I hear it many times in the evening.So it was also this evening.I came out and saw it on the roof of the next house.So, I held the camera immedaitely and ... here are the results!
